Basic hedging

General description #

The basic hedging report gives an overview of all open currency hedging contracts of a company. The basic hedging report in Qbil-Trade is a customized report used by customers who trade internationally and use currency hedging in their contracts. In this report, you can find general details related to currency contracts, such as contract numbers, amounts confirmed, the status of contracts, etc. The report also provides information about the closing and expiration dates of the currency contracts.

The report is available only for customers with configuration valutacontracten.enabled set to true.

Purposes/Objectives #

  • The hedging report helps its users track all the open currency contracts for a period.
  • The report can be used to filter the non-linked purchase and sales amounts separately.
  • The report can also be used to compare the details of the hedging contracts with the contracts received from the bank or broker.

Columns #

  • Type: The column displays whether the open (non-linked) contract is purchase or sales type. On hover, the column header displays the short info text, “Type.”
  • Subsidiary: The operating subsidiary for the contract is given in this column. The column data is retrieved from the field subsidiary of the related Qbil contract. On hover, the column header displays “Subsidiary that owns the contract/lot”.
  • Contract: The contract number of the Goods contract related to the currency contract is displayed in this column. On hovering over the column header, the displays the info tip “Contract”.
  • Expiration date: The expiration date or maturity date of the currency contract is displayed in this column. The data is retrieved from the field “Closing date” of the related currency contract. On hover, the column header displays the text “Expiration date”.
  • Bank: The bank associated with the hedging or currency contract is given in this column. The value is fetched from the field “Bank” of the related currency contract. On hover, the column header will display the text “Shows whether the relation is selected as a bank or not”.
  • Bank contract number: The contract number provided by the bank for the currency hedging is given in this column. On hover, the column header will display the text “Bank Contract No.”
  • Status: The status of the currency hedging contract is given in this column. The column will display “open” or “confirmed” values for a contract. The value is fetched from the field “Status” of the related currency contract. On hover, the column header displays the text “Status”.
  • Currency: The column displays the currency used in the contract. On hover, the column header displays the short info text, “Contract Currency.”
  • Base currency: The column displays the base currency of the subsidiary associated with the contract. On hover, the column header displays the short info text “Base currency.”
  • Remarks: any remarks added to the currency contract are given in this column. On hover, the column header displays the text “Remarks chosen in the contract or placed at stock lot”.
  • Closing date: The closing date set for the currency contract is given in this column. On hover, the column header displays the info text “Closing date”.
  • Exchange rate: The foreign exchange rate of the currency agreed for the currency contract is given in this column. The value is retrieved from the field “Fx Rate” of the related currency contract. On hover, the column header displays the info text “Currency exchange rate”.
  • Amount value: The total amount of the currency contract is displayed in this column. The value is fetched from the field “Amount” of the related currency contract. On hover, the column header will display the info text “Total Amount”.

Accounts and Financial

  • Unable to find invoice for export in current month

    Invoices are displayed on the export screen in a particular month. The month of the invoice is taken from the invoice date and not from another date, such as the due date.

    The invoice date is therefore leading in terms of month for export periods. For example: Invoice date 22-05-2022 and due date 15-06-2022. This invoice will appear in the export under the month May.
