Currency position

General description #

The currency position report provides an overview of the position of a currency in a company with respect to contracts (products and currency). That is, it provides you with details about the total contracted values and outstanding balances (if any) of the contracts for the selected currency. The report is filtered and displayed for each currency separately. For each currency, the report previews a table including data on all the product contracts in which the selected currency is used and the currency contracts of these contracts (if any). The general details with respect to the contract, like the number, type, and amount, are displayed in the report.

The report is available only for customers with configuration valutacontracten.enabled set to true.

Objectives/Purposes #

The report serves the following main purposes:

  • The report provides you with statistical information about the balance amounts with respect to sales and purchase invoices in which the selected currency is used.
  • The report also allows you to check the position of overall trading and the accounting of the currencies individually.

Additional Filters #

You can narrow down the results of the currency position of the chosen currency by using the following filters:

  • Period: You can choose any period, such as the current month, quarter, or year, or the following month, quarter, or year, to check the currency position of your contracts for the chosen currency. You can also specify custom dates in the “Start date” and “End date” fields if you want to check this position for a certain date range.
  • Hedging Status: With this filter, you can choose whether to show contracts with hedging status “Open,” “Confirmed,” or both.

Columns #

The data in this report is fetched after selecting a currency. The contracts in which the selected currency is used and the currency contracts that are associated with these contracts are displayed only.

  • Contract: This column displays the contract number of the contract in the row. Any specific contract can also be searched in the search bar of the column.
  • Type: The type of contract, whether a product (purchase or sale) or currency, is shown in this column. Any specific type of contract can also be searched in the column.
  • Amount: The total amount for the contract is given in this column.
  • Period: The period columns in the table are fetched as many as the months selected in the period in the format MM-YYYY. Each period shows the amount of the contract for the respective period from the related contract.
  • Total: The total column under each period gives the sum of all the contract amount values for the respective period.

  • Unable to find invoice for export in current month

Invoices are displayed on the export screen in a particular month. The month of the invoice is taken from the invoice date and not from another date, such as the due date.

The invoice date is therefore leading in terms of month for export periods. For example: Invoice date 22-05-2022 and due date 15-06-2022. This invoice will appear in the export under the month May.
